2020, well what can I say. Covid-19 or Coronavirus has clearly has a disruptive effect on the world and our sport, like all others has suffered greatly.

Ben was very well prepared through the winter training. He had finished his winter training with a successful outing at a combined training at Felbridge with both Kauto & Rico, before spending a few days with William Fox-Pit to set himself up for the start of the season at Thoresby Int 2* with Kauto Cyreo, then planned to head down to Portman for a Novice run with Con Rico.

Lockdown came into place!!

Now both of mine are turned out in the field awaiting the news that we can start up again!!

The 2019 Event season for Ben Leathers and his competition horses is well underway. With a good run of competitions throughout the spring, both Kauto Cyreo and Con Rico are really coming together this year.

Kauto Cyreo (owner – Ben Leathers) Kauto started the season at a new venue for us at Poplar Park. He had a good dressage and double clear to come home in 8th in the Novice. Moving on to completing Portman Novice, then another completion at CCI2* at Bicton following on to completing the CCI2*L at Houghton Hall in May. He will be out at Farley Hall in June and stepping up to Intermediate in July at Aston-Le-Walls in July.

Con Rico (owner – Ben Leathers) Rico has been stepped up to Novice now and is coming on well. He joined Kauto Cyreo at Poplar Park to have a double clear and coming 10th. He then went on to complete at Novice at Bovington, Chilham Castle & Firle. He will continue gaining the experience needed with a Novice run at BCA in June and I hope to take him to Bicton Int in October for a CCI2*-S.

2018 was a testing year with the shoulder injury in June taking me out for two months. Putting this behind me, this season is looking like taking the horses up the levels and enjoying some new venues through the year.
