2017 has proved to be an exciting Event season for Ben Leathers and his competition horses. With a good run of competitions throughout the season, Lady Solaire qualified for a Regional Final at Chilham Castle and Kauto Cyreo and Con Rico qualifying for two Regional Finals each, putting in competitive placings each outing, finishing with a busy end to the season.

Kauto Cyreo (owner – Ben Leathers) was outstanding at the Mitsubishi Cup Championship coming 18th out of 100 and winning the RoR award for the highest placed RoR in the 100 sections, winning a lesson with Tina Cook and a RoR jacket. Kauto has now moved up to Novice and has done very well at this level with a 7th at Little Downham and 11th at both Smiths Lawn & Aston Le Walls and completed his first 1* at Firle Int. in August then finishing the season with another 1* at South of England.

Con Rico (owner – Ben Leathers) has steadily gaining his confidence this season in the BE100 and BE105 classes with some good steady results and finished the season with a 4th at Broadway, qualifying his place for the Mitsubishi Cup Championships BE100 in May 2018.

Lady Solaire (owner – Angela Poston) has produced some very good dressage results in the low 20’s this season however her show jumping has not been her strongest phase. With her being consistent in the cross-country section it is only a matter of time for her to produce the winning results in the BE 90 classes. She has gained some experience over some new tracks this season and is taking them in her stride.

Finishing the season with five Regional finals, a trip to Blenheim Place with Con Rico to compete in the eventers challenge championships and two a CIC1* for Kauto to complete his season, the end of the season was just as exciting as the start. What will 2018 offer!!!
